Just a question . . . .

I am glad to hear that CAC is celebrating World AIDS Day . . . but how does looking at art and hearing a DJ play music and drinking some drinkies raise awareness about AIDS? Are there going to be some informative materials presented? Just seems kinda silly and crappy to exploit AIDS awareness to gain attendance. DOn't get me wrong, I LOVE free stuff, but I am just curious.

Yeah, I don't think the CAC is trying to take advantage of World AIDS Day... There's a couple of reasons they're doing this:

1) The show that's opening is about Fela Kuti--the composer, musician, polititian. He died in 1997 of AIDS-related reasons and heart failure. And he was, of course, African.

2) AIDS is, of course, a huge matter facing Africa especially--whole generations are being lost.
