Of some importance should be the last paragraph:

Defense officials said the Russians can provide information on what happened to the Iraqi weapons and explosives that were transported out of the country. Officials believe the Russians also can explain what happened to Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs.

The press conference fails to confirm if the weapons they are talking about are THE missing weapons or not.

In fact, the only thing that is confirmed is that "we don't know the facts." This has been repeated over and over again. "we don't know" is a refrain that we have been hearing since yesterday from Bush.

How is this bad news for Kerry, exactly? I'm not sure I see where you're going with this...

Maybe I'm not following Ianalex.

How is it good when you send a large military force to go into a country looking for an object, you supposedly find it and then it disappears for over a year until someone comes forward and says "Oh yea we had it but we didn't know you were looking for it."? Something's fishy and/or wrong with this picture.

1st of all, if this appears to be "nothing" then it is not bad for Kerry it is just not another xampl of horrendous fuck-upness for Bush.

maybe the scale the IAEA used was off....i know that my scale at home CAN'T be right! :D

regardless, Kerry went off half cocked, without any facts or proof and blamed Bush. as the story unfolds, he looks more and more stupid on the issue.....i'm sure he'll come out in a day and inform us that he never said that and now supports the demoliton expert fully. LOL!

All the dems have left to do is accuse Bush of assassinating Martin Luther King and the circle will be complete.

I won't argue that he was hedging his bets in jumping on this so aggressively. In the end, it'll turn out to be a non-issue. But as far as looking stupid & half-cocked, W.'s corned the market that. "Global Test", my ass.

It's that pesky metric to English conversion.
