Pardon my stupidity here and also if this happens to be in the wrong forum then I am sorry ahead of time, but I just have a little question here. I am watching portions tonight of the Late Show with David Letterman and the guest is John Kerry. I was just curious if Letterman is really pro-Kerry or is he pro-Bush or is he really not on either side or does anybody really know? He just made a sorta lame joke about it, but I was just curious and wondering especially since he does have Kerry on the show. Any help would greatly ease this curious mind of mine. Thanks in advance.

i watch letterman a lot. i'd have to say, he gives equal time to poking fun at kerry and the president.
i have noticed over the years that dave is a big troops/military supporter. he gets satellite feeds of troops for his top 10 lists, and i know he's gone over to the middle east to hang with the troops within the last year or two.
one night, after playing a bush verbal goof, dave said, "i'm gonna miss that guy." it was pretty funny at the time.
those are just my impressions from many nights watching. dave probably likes the president, but i don't know if he'd vote for him.
regarding kerry, i thought he seemed sorta frazzled last night, and was trying way too hard to jab at bush. reminded me of the guys that will take any phrase and try to work some sexual innuendo into it. it just wasn't funny. he'd of come off a lot better if he let dave make all the wisecracks.
i shut the tv off halfway through the interview, because i just couldn't take it anymore.

I caught it by chance, and thought Kerry did okay.
Letterman is pretty liberal by my estimation.
You can tell when he's enjoying his job.

I didnt see it but I read caught this on CNN.com, pretty funny
Kerry's "Top 10 Bush Tax Proposals" are:
10. No estate tax for families with at least two U.S. presidents.
9. W-2 Form is now Dubya-2 Form.
8. Under the simplified tax code, your refund check goes directly to Halliburton.
7. The reduced earned income tax credit is so unfair, it just makes me want to tear out my lustrous, finely groomed hair.
6. Attorney General (John) Ashcroft gets to write off the entire U.S. Constitution.
5. Texas Rangers can take a business loss for trading Sammy Sosa.
4. Eliminate all income taxes; just ask Teresa (Heinz Kerry) to cover the whole damn thing.
3. Cheney can claim Bush as a dependent.
2. Hundred-dollar penalty if you pronounce it "nuclear" instead of "nucular."
1. George W. Bush gets a deduction for mortgaging our entire future.

John Kerry on Regis and Kelly?? (http://tvplex.go.com/buenavista/regisandkelly/index.html)
I have no idea what their political affiliations are, maybe it doesn't matter anymore; what ever will give them ratings.

I got the impression from Letterman that he is a liberal. It's his job to make fun of both candidates, but he seemed really interested in what Kerry was saying, and he also seemed to be agreeing with most of it.

You're thinking of Bob Dole!

After he lost in the election, he loosened up a TON. When he went on talk shows, he was willing to poke fun at himself and showed that he has a sense of humor. Then he started doing commercials for Viagra and it was all downhill from there.
