Ok,

So help me if the feds let this slip thru...

U'see, I read somewhere that the big reason Mike-r-soft is makin xBoxes & other non-OS/Office prods is that they r lookin to capture more market share seeing as they hav saturated the OS/OFfice market.

Well, that's great, that's a great goal for a company. I don't hav a prob/w that too much, it's that they proposed to diversify into anti-virus.

Huh?

ANTI-VIRUS?!?!?!? to fix the holes in your operatin system?

Really, c'mon man... u want us to buy an additional prog when someone out there finds a new vulnerability in the sieve-like O/S u made? Don't b so transparent.

How can a private company have fucking conflicts of interest? They sell what they sell. If you don't like it don't buy it.

MS makes the o/s with the lion's share of the market. Basically monopolizing the PC genre of O/S.

Who competes/w MS for O/Ses for PC's? (intel & intel-clone chips?)

Oh sure, say that Mac has a monopoly on Mac hardware? Well, they do but they'r also the sole manufacturers of Mac computers.

There r many competitors for intel-similar systems, but only one viable company to supply the O/S: Microsoft.

Ok, that's a diff that needed pointing out. Mainly it demonstrates that MS has the market dominated by it's product thus, if they decded to stop supporting WIn95, or change their next issuance of their O/S to a trinary system, then BAAAAM all the Intel-similar manufacturers must conform or die. There is a definite one-sided collusion goin on where MS says they wil do "X" or the multipl manufacturers say they want "Y" & it happns.

Now, this anti-v proposal from MS? Just a horribbly clear case of conflict. If MS wantd to the could intentionally make holes in their system that only their Anti-V can solve. In other words, intentionally puttin out crippleware to support their new venture. Also, even if their hole was unintentional, instead of correctin the hole they sell u more.

conflict.

It's only a conflict for those who use the product.
Oh wait, that's EVERYBODY (almost)
