Luken will not seek second term
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Mayor Charlie Luken today said he would not seek a second term in 2005.
He said he made the decision Sunday not to run again after talking to his two daughters and son.
"I can't get myself ratcheted up for a tough campaign,'' Luken said.
State Sen. Mark Mallory, D-Cincinnati, has already announced he would run for mayor. Others may also enter the race, especially now that Luken has decided not seek re-election.
Luken, a Democrat, was elected mayor in 2001, in the first election of a mayor for a four-year term. The mayor's office is officially non-partisan.

Interesting....
Drive down the street can't find the keys to my own f*cking home
I take a walk so I can curse my ass for being dumb
I make a right after the arches. . . stinking grease and bone
Stop at the supermarket. . . people stare like I'm a dog
I'm gone to Luken's... I gotta spot at Luken's
Unlock the door at Luken's. . . open the fridge
Now I know life's worth
I find the key but I return to find an open door
Some fucking freak who claims I fathered by raping my son
I find my wife. I call the cops. This day's work's never done.
The last I heard the freak was purchasing a f*cking gun.

If I remember hearing he said he didn't hav the energy for public office at this time.
Damn, I mean, now that he has to face Mark Mallory, a considerably more potent foe than Isaac the anchorman, he realized he has to stand on his acheivements, not his opponents lack of acheivements.
So he leaves now.
Good-fuckin-bye.

I was his daughter's basketball coach way back when... like about 11 years ago, I guess. He was always a really supportive dad. He came to practices sometimes, too and was a cool guy - as far as being a parent goes.
So he got divorced and is dating someone hot and young? That's kinda scandalous.
Oh shit! What am I doing posting in CE/P? I'm leaving now.
