the Ford Escape Hybrid SUV.
I'm getting one! well, not yet, but by the end of this summer we expect to trade. this is very exciting news for people with mutant size families like mine. I'm hoping this will help to swing the trend from horsepower to efficiency. pretty sure these will catch on.

Regenerative Braking
Whenever you apply the brakes, you are, in effect, recharging the battery pack. Engineers call this regenerative braking and it represents a major part of the Escape Hybrid's fuel efficiency advantage over conventional vehicles. Although Escape Hybrid will never make stop and go driving any more enjoyable, that is actually when it is at it's fuel saving best.
that just blows my mind.
now I can dismiss some of the guilt associated with driving a gas hog all over the place. our Blazer gets like two shot glasses per gallon.
