I'm just curious. Does anyone faithfully on the boards also play Alternatrivia?

Every morning, one of the first things I do.

I do, and some how as long as I'm perfect for the week, my moniker is on the front page.

I don't if this is were you are going, but yes I do think this weeks questions are repeats.

Or maybe my cairvoyance is acting up again.

It seemed that people post or people play, but I don't see many names on both. BTW (without cheating) has anybody recognized the questions this week? Any moderators can ignore this. (wave hand) You are not reading this. These are not the posts you are looking for.

WTF? Hey bro, put down the pipe while typing. ;)

And by the way. What's Alternatrivia?

Okay okay, found it. Now next question. Is there just one question? That's all I got.

Stine

There's a new question every day - after two weeks a winner is drawn.

I thought you were joking. One joke each weekday for 2 weeks. One person sent some stuff taken randomly from the perfect scores. XU92 . . . I seem you all the time there. PS: I was XU95

Sorry . . . question . . . got joking on the mind I guess

Thanks CG. No I wasn't joking but that doen't mean you have to take me seriously! :D Alright. The next stupid ass blue question. When did this round start? I take it started Monday since everyone has two points. So starting today is useless since all the questions are repeats right? Okay you all suck :p. Remind me when the next legit round starts will ya? I'm gonna go read up on my indiealternaretrohiphopclassicmodern trivia over at pitchfork.

If you have posted here 793 times and don't know about Alternatrivia, you may need to put down the pipe:p

AT is a great way to practice your web searching skills. . . um . . . I'm mean Aternative music knowledge.

I won a couple of months ago, 4 CDs, and a T-shirt.

You win shit? COOL.

I have al lot of those posts because the small male child and old woman that live in my earlobes oft times post here. I tell them not to but then they threaten to feed butterflies to the rabbit. He doesn't like butterflies. He likes YOU! But you never play with him. Why won't you play with Rabbit? :(

PS: Congrats XU. I'm on your coat tails

Yes, all repeats - all week. I'm sure whomever presents the questions @ the station has to know that they are repeats.

Here's a good trivia question for long time listeners - what was the "official" food of the Breakfast Club (Julie/Bake)?

Phil used to do all the question writing, and since he's gone, I'm assuming no one has taken that job over as of yet. Hence the repeats.

This will be the last of Alternatrivia. So starts the slow decline of the WOXY empire.:(

THANKS MATT! I'm now your best friend and there's nothing you can do about it. {stalk stalk}

Is this true that alternatriva will go away? The message boards will still be here. Concert updates too! I really don't care about the prizes that much. I'd take 'em if I won, but I just want my name on the perfect score board.

Alternatrivia seems to have hit a bit of a snag for the time being. For what reason I have no idea, but I'm gonna miss doing web searches for some of those obscure questions.

Alternatrivia hasn't hit a snag; it's on hiatus because the station may not be around for the two more weeks it normally runs :( (See the main page).

Hey, I dug this one up. Anybody else miss this? I loved playing every day before going to work. It'd be cool to see it come back, if a WOXY 3.0 materializes...

Hell yeah. First thing I did when I got to work was log on and play this. I miss it.

That was in the days I just lurked about on here. ;)

I was in the top ten for the longest time when it was around. I'd love to reclaim my throne among the elite. :p

Ahh....AlternaTrivia. I gotta admit, it was one of the things I enjoyed managing the most (with a lot of help from the interns and Jenny) at 97X as QuizMaster Phil. You guys were pretty damn good at it too. If you have one of those cherished medals, you are precious indeed....

wanna play?

David Bowie's left eye, 2 parts:

Why is it different?

What got wedged into it during a show in 2006?

Bonus: (part 2), how did he retaliate?

Hoo-ray for Phil! There were many days where I had to do SOME form of research for the AlternaTrivia... you had well thought out questions! A definite challenge, better than Jeopardy.

I think Bill should resurrect it and should appoint you to run it once again. Of course, you're probably busy enough in NY, but a question a day wouldn't be too much work? Would it? Ahh, just nostalgic dreaming, that's all.

Crap. I've always wondered about that eye.

Its brown because he got in a knife fight when he was younger and it turned his blue eyes brown...

An in Norway (I think?) someone threw a lollipop (I think?) on stage that landed in his eye. And then he said something like "Now you've done it. Just because of that I'm going to play even longer and make you listen to MORE songs!"

Good times....

"A teenage fight over a girl resulted in a blow to the eye that left his left eye paralyzed. The eye remained permanently dilated."

Then, it was a lollipop, stick end. bad karmic left eye

He ruled as usual by throwing his guitar pick back at the crowd.

Please, won't you help to bring back the Alternatrivia?

The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" is usually credited with being the first rock song to use backward tape recording. Which song did John Lennon say really WAS the first song to use this psychedelic technique?
