Does anyone else see this as a ploy by GW et al, as a way to lower voter turnout? Meaning that non-'conservatives' will be less likely to vote due to threat while the 'conservative' vote will seem more dominant as they belief he 'will lead us through.'
Also, does anybody else know what the NCR is? They are affiliated with Wright-Patt, and through someone related to a bigger boss, there is an email floating around their system that is promoting the idea of the US leaving NATO. I don't even know what to say to that.

I don't see why terrorists would attack before the election. If they do, that would pretty much cement a Bush victory, don't you think?
Why would voter turnout be low? Is there a threat against polling places? If so, I wonder if the gubment has a plan for alternative polling places if an attack would occur at a large polling place. Polling place....there, I said it again.

I remember hearing that some terrorist spokesperson claimed that they hope Bush wins since he is at least up front about his hatred for the Muslims and the Middle East and that Kerry and the Democrats are more sneaky in their hatred.

Hmm. Interesting, since Bush said he hates the muslims.

Look at Spain.
Did I miss some news? Where did this "terrorist voting threat" story come from?

In my mind, Spain (and the rest of Europe, for that matter) was easily influenced by the bombings since they had so much anti-war sentiment to begin with.
If an attack occurs in the US again, it just seems that Bush's approval ratings will skyrocket again like they did in 2001.

Reread MNeck, it said that the terrorist spokesman said Bush is up front about his hatred. No one said that Bush said outloud his hatred.
so there :P

Wasn't there a terrorist spokesqueer back in the early 90's, though?

I think you may be confusing al-Qaeda with al-Queerda -- a splinter group that seeks the overthrow of those awful hairy beards in favor of some well trimmed sideburns and a clean-shaven well-exfoliated face.

Thanks.
I actually heard this story, but around here, they've been focusing on the potential of attack at the opening of the blight known as the WWII Memorial, and skipping over the part linking the election to a raise in the threat level.
the whole idea of "if we get attacked, the chimp's popularity will skyrocket" seems kind of odd to me.
--> the same guy that was around for 9/11 and brought us to iraq and has yet to find the 9/11 insurgents, (assumingly) is around for "this attack" ...
why would anyone think that his popularity would surge if he cannot protect us....but wants us to fear, yet another attack...
i would think, logically, that his popularity would go down if we were to get attacked again, because it would obviously prove that he ain't doing shite to protect us from that potential problem...
am i missing something here?
