A Community Hearing on Local Broadcasting and the Public Interest
Friday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m., Nestor Hall, Columbus State Community College
Featuring: Johanna Shelton, Advisor to FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein
Ohio Broadcasters, Community Leaders & Media Researchers
You will want to attend the hearing if you believe:
- your local community has been underserved by broadcast media
- important public issues have received little or no attention by Ohio
broadcasters
- a broadcaster deserves praise for journalistic excellence
- the right to broadcast on public airwaves carries a responsibility to
serve the community
This hearing will feature:
A panel of community leaders, media scholars and local broadcasters
discussing media ownership regulations; local programming; media and
elections; license renewal for Ohio's radio and TV stations (radio in 2004
