Here is another rant...

Reason #205 why Steve Tasker is the worst NFL commentator. Why oh why do we Bengal fans have to suffer with him week in and week out...

This critique starts just after the Steelers took the lead with a touchdown. Just a few examples.

TASKER: TWO TEAMS ARE GOING TO LEARN SOMETHING IN THIS GAME. THE STEELERS ARE GOING TO LEARN THAT THEY CAN WIN AGAINST A GOOD TEAM AND THEY’RE STILL IN THE DIVISION RACE. AND THE BENGALS ARE GOING TO LEARN THAT THEY HAVE TO PLAY 4 QTRS OF FOOTBALL TO WIN IN PITTSBURGH.

now mind you here there is still 1:05 left to play in the game and Cincy is only down by 3 points and they still have two time-outs to work with. I’m sorry but in football terms that is a lifetime. But in the mind of Tasker, the Bengals have already lost this one.

here is another piece of wisdom from Tasker after two big plays drove the bengals deep in Pittsburgh territory...

TASKER: IT’S ALMOST BAD FOR THE BENGALS....TO COMEBACK AND WIN THIS GAME...IT’S ALMOST BAD FOR THEM... BECAUSE THEY WILL THINK THEY CAN SHUT IT OFF AND TURN IT ON ANYTIME THEY WANT, AND THAT’S REALLY NOT THE CASE.

i think i know what he is saying here, but why the hell would you say that. a win..is a win...is a win...is a win....no matter how it happens..especially on somebody else's turf.

more magic from the microphone after an incomplete pass to warrick in the endzone...now mind you the bengals have just driven down the field on two plays in about 40 seconds.

TASKER: YOU CAN STILL SEE HERE THE DIFFERENCE...THE STEELERS ARE STILL PLAYING AGGRESSIVE DEFENSIVELY..THE BENGALS HAD LET UP AND LET THE STEELERS RUN ALL THE WAY DOWN THE FIELD AND NOW THE STEELERS COME OUT AND ARE PLAYING A LITTLE BIT MORE AGGRESSIVELY.

aside from being just plain stupid, can this guy not see that the bengals are on the steelers 20 yd line? in fact as Tasker completes his astute observation...kitna finds matt schobel for the game winning touchdown...52 yards in 52 seconds.

A somber sounding Tasker could only mutter as the Bengals prepared to kickoff...

THERE’S 13 SECONDS LEFT...

I guess 13 seconds is better than 65 seconds the Bengals had to work with.

I may be nitpicking, but when a TV network shells out Billions with a (B) you would think they could hire better announcers. Just because you played the game doesn’t automatically mean you can sit in a booth.

Now for my next rant...the idiot sideline reporters.....

Can't agree with you more. You and I weren't the only people annoyed by it, as I was chatting with 72Valiant later in the day about the same thing. I have to assume others were also a little put off by his one-sided game-call.

Not to mention, the very same Tasker made a comment as they were coming back from showing the score of the Patriots/Colts game. The Pats were up 31-10, but there was still LOADS of football to play. He says, "Wow, that game is over." Minutes later, the Colts have scored twice in about a minute and a half and are back in the game. Captain Wisdom shut his mouth about the score after that.

Tasker was stupid and even mildly offensive throughout the entirety of the Bengals game.

Tasker: The Bengals need to double Buress. It's obvious, the guy has been making all the plays. They need to double Buress to stop this.

Tasker: I would keep an eye on Ward, he's been their man all day.

...that I am not alone with my disdain of Mr. Tasker. You gotta hope that the CBS brass will give us some other duo other than Tasker and Criqui for this Sunday's HUGE game in Baltimore.

I'd rather hear Lap go crazy and get hyper over a 13 yard pass on 3rd down than hear Tasker try to say Schoebel didn't make the catch in the back of the endzone b/c he dropped the ball... after 3 steps... after getting hit... and after holding the ball... until he hit the ground.

u idiot, it's called a FUMBLE, and furthermore... b/c he lost it when he hit the ground, it's called DEAD b/c the ground can't cause a fumble if a defender touched them on their way down... and lastly...

for it to be a fumble, he had to have possession of it... Tasker, he was in the endzone... did u notice? maybe? huh?

yeah, I'd rather hear Brad & Lap's one-sided rants. I mean, it's like watching the ball with 2 other crazed Bengals fans.

Unfortunately for me I live in Los Angeles, which means I am at the mercy of DirecTV. Even if 92.5 broadcast over the internet...DirecTV operates on a 4-6 second delay from the real thing...so i am SkA-rewed

Don't even get me started on DirecTV NFL Sunday ticket/

I was at this game, on the friggin 50 yard line. The ONLY person in my section wearing a Bengals shirt, not even kidding. I think probably the best moment in my life was walking down the stairwell of a totally silent stadium with two random Bengals fans I happened to pick up, screaming "WHO DEY!" and flippin' everyone the bird. I thought I was gonna get jumped.

They are vicious. A person I know went to the game and he said while he was at a urinal, some old man stole his Bengals towel out of his back pocket. Jerks.

The game was hard to deal with at first. There was some guy behind me making fun of my hair the whole time. Apparently he always makes fun of people's hair if they cheer for the other team. I held 'em off though. Two of the guys behind me who were talking shit the whole game ducked out as soon as we scored that last touchdown. They can't take this heat.
