So i wanna start up my own DIY style cleveland area zine, ya know the kind full of collages and made via photocopier (after hours at my office). I think its going to be pretty much about everything, music reviews, editorials, politcs, prose, posetry, whatever works. If anyone is interested in contributing, drop me a line. I don't really care if you live in a far away and exotic place as long as you can write or draw or whatever. I miss the indie zine scene in boston so i think its time to spice up cleveland bookstore and record shop shelves . . .

sounds cool.
vicious could do the advise column, bronzetree could write a comic strip, and we got a savvy bunch of political/societal commentators. hell, i would be happy to give my two cents on something or other.
how 'bout it gang? who wants to be published?

if when you say "published" you mean xeroxed several hundred times then right on. Honestly though, If we play are cards right, the zine could have quite the international flare (again, that is if international means the 'natti). Anyhow, I should probably repost this on one of the more busy areas, randomville most liekly . . .

Me too!
I published SCREED in Cincinnati for 8 issues until I got burnt out. More info about that here (http://www.citybeat.com/archives/1996/issue239/literary1.html)

My cousins once lived in Weymouth & Quincy. I grew up in Andover, but moved back to Beantown and used to live in Brighton until my wife and I moved to Cincinnati in 1993. We are planning to return to New England, but will probably settle in New Hampshire.
And (shucks) I'm Boston-Irish too! ;)
Here's a zine title: The Homesick Bostonian

i'll have to add that title to my quickly growing list (ok, who am i kidding, thats just about the only title in the werx) . . .
I was actually born in the glorious city of Erie, Pa but was transplanted to the eastcoast as mere babe when my dad was in grad school in boston. I also spent some time living in Alston and miss the whole scene terribly.
I checked out the artcile on Screed, you seem to really know a ton more about the whole zine thing then I do. All i know is that I want to make one, but I guess the process is the real reason i'm doing it . . .

That's where I'm from (NH)! Born and raised. Then to Worcester for college, Cincinnati for grad school (2 years ago)... and it looks like for love and various other reasons, I will be in the 'nati area for awhile... but I always thought I would move to boston after grad school to hang with the college buddies who are in somerville (davis square) and brighton...

My mother owns a home in Benton, NH. We would like to move to the Littleton area. I am so SICK of Cincinnati and need to leave here one day (hopefully sooner than later). All of my family, and some of my wife's family are in New England.

Hey Red... keep me in the loop on the zine... I'm in Cleveland and have been starting to take a lot of pix of all the bands we've been playing with from all over... plus i might be able to hook you up with some writers in town...

Sounds like a plan. I think we'll try and get a crew together next week sometimeto start hashing some ideas together, probably at the wine bar (cave du vin) in coventry. Most everyone involved are wannabe writters so this might be a cool crowd for you to get involved with. I think its gonna be pretty open for submissions as long as there well done, opinion pieces, humor, band reveiws, whatever works.
