Interesting. Cali and NY are blue. Texas and Florida are red. The Democrats seem to be holding their own in the populous states, but the Republicans seem to have a lot more area/states overall.

I sense more criticism of the electoral college coming. . .

I guess it surprised me that California wasn't "blue-er".

It surprises me too- NH (where I grew up) is pretty much blue, except for the northern part, where like 5 people live (probably all poor too, from being unemployed from the paper mill). Yet the governor is republican, so are the congressmen and senators, and in the '96 primary, we picked Buchanan. I guess the money comes from the dems, but the votes come from poor redneck republicans...

(and NH is where all the libertarians are moving- Free State Movement)

....its sort of interesting to note that Southern states one thinks of as Republican strongholds (like Oklahoma, Alabama and Missississippi) actually have some clusters of rural countys that are giving to the Democrats.
