now playing thingy

So the now playing thing showed "Violent" by Concrete Blonde as playing while "Last Goodbye" from Jeff Buckley was on..
someone reassure me, a computer automation system isn't running WOXY's playlist is it?

I've noticed that sometimes it gets ahead or behind a song or two. Maybe that is what happened?

Trust me, we are one of the last commercial stations in the nation with somebody in the studio 24 hours a day and still PHYSICALLY playing each cd in a cd player!

Complications with the now playing feature can arise when the stream falls behind the real-time broadcast. I know sometimes the stream is just off from what we're actually playing. I am not technical enough to tell you why this happens, but I know it does!

Also, the interface is a computer program that each DJ has to update themselves. It doesn't happen often, but every now and again there is operator error with updating the program. We try and be 100% on top of things, but sometimes it can't be helped and you can't insert a song right away.

Rest assured, we're not automated (although sometimes around 4am I wish we were) :-D

I would guess from my personal experience that it's what Shiv said. I know that the stream lags a little...and that lag is going to depend on a lot of things. I was listening to it via the radio and streaming it, and it was about 1/2 song behind. My friend in PA was listening to the stream and she was about 2 songs behind.
