It is special every year, but this year is another milestone, as we count down the best of the best for the 20th time. At the end of each day, I will list the songs that we have counted down so far here on The Futurist, and you can listen to them as they are counted down over on WOXY Vintage all week long, starting each day at 9am ET.

At this point, you have to either have just come here for the first time, or have possibly been ignoring all things music and internet over the past two months NOT to know about this years Modern Rock 500. So, just in case you fall into either of those categories, or several others (i.e. pure laziness), this post is for you.

Ladies and gentlemen, re-start your engines! If you missed this year’s countdown of the greatest songs in the history of modern rock, alternative and indie music, get ready for the 19th annual Modern Rock 500. Over and over and over again…..

Starting at 6am on Monday the 16th, we’ll play back the entire 37-hour Memorial Day classic - on repeat and uninterrupted - for a solid week. This way, if you happen to miss the songs at laps 415, 262 or 103, you’ll have a few other chances to catch it again. (Our calculations have us looping the 500 5 times from Monday to Monday but hey, we’re in radio so accountants we ain’t).

It all starts on June 16th on the Vintage channel of WOXY.com….
