You’ve gotta hand it to The Duke Spirit. Unlike a lot of European bands whose US tours consist of a dozen dates in the seemingly the same dozen cities, they’ve practically taken up residence in the States to support their second disc Neptune since its release in February 2008. Between their own headlining dates, support slots, in-stores appearances, and radio sessions like ours, the London-based quartet have been giving it their all in an attempt to break into the American market. The band’s itinerary gave them a day off in Cincinnati and in addition to playing in the Lounge, they played an in-store later in the day at Shake It Records.

Now, before you think that band is forgoing any relaxation whatsoever, it became apparent that they really enjoy meeting fans and making friends as they travel to cities and markets that don’t regularly have bands from overseas route through.

Led by the beautiful Leila Moss, her husky vocals showcased during this stripped-down performance, the band played four songs from Neptune and talked about their plans to record and release its follow-up in time to tour the States again next Spring.
