Brooklyn-based Stellastarr* burst onto the national scene in 2003 with the release of their self-titled debut, which contained several songs that received significant airplay on the station: “Jenny”, “My Coco”, “In The Walls”, and “Homeland”. Harmonies For The Haunted followed two years later, and now they return with Civilized, issued on their own Bloated Wife label.

There have been countless examples of bands who’ve imploded after parting ways with a major label, such as Stellastarr* did with RCA. But these longtime friends rededicated themselves to carrying on and it was apparent that their strong bond played a major factor in doing so. For their first appearance in the Lounge, they played four songs from Civilized and an old favorite from their debut.
