Lounge Act Recap – Cut Off Your Hands

From Auckland, New Zealand, Cut Off Your Hands have been on a rapid rise since forming in 2006, playing high profile gigs like the Big Day Out, SXSW, and the Camden Crawl. Their debut full-length, You & I, was recorded in London with in-demand producer Bernard Butler, and released in October 2008. Their brand of indie-pop contains echoes of fellow Kiwis from the seminal Flying Nun roster such as The Clean, The Bats, and The Chills.
Somewhat unusual for an overseas band, COYH has been touring the US rather extensively over the past year. They chat with Mike about playing in some smaller cities and how much that differs from playing in a place like New York or a festival like SXSW.
