We were still broadcasting on the FM dial out of Oxford when The Walkmen’s debut album Everybody Who Pretended To Like Me Is Gone was released back in 2002 and their single “We’ve Been Had” quickly became a station favorite.

In the years that followed, they’ve racked up a healthy number of spins from the albums that followed. Last year, they garnered more airplay with us than ever before as their You & Me album hit #11 on the 97 Best of 2008 countdown.

We finally caught up with them for this excellent Lounge Act session while the guys were out on the road doing a series of dates with Kings Of Leon. Even though they showed up to find out they had 2 busted amps (which meant their organ would be spending the session out in the van), they treated us to five songs that originally appear on You & Me.
