The Calm Blue Sea are a group of musicians that all play a significant role in each and every song the band plays. Each member is a different cog or part in the machine that combine to make up the sound you hear on their album. And without each part of the machine doing their job and paying close attention to the details of how the machine is running, everything could be thrown out of whack. That being said, it’s a good thing The Calm Blue Sea are a well oiled machine, and they displayed that for us during their live studio session in Austin during SXSW 2009.

We had all become fans of these 5 guys before they even stepped foot into our studios after hearing their excellent debut album and being won over by the epic qualities that their music possesses. But being able to see the “machine” at work right in front of us, took things to a new level. You can certainly tell that these guys spend alot of practice time together fine tuning things, and for their performance, they treat us to three excellent songs from their debut.
