Lounge Act Recap – Benjy Ferree

Washington, D.C.-based singer Benjy Ferree just released his second album for Domino Records. Come Back To The Five And Dime Bobby Dee Bobby Dee is inspired, in part, by the life and death of child actor Bobby Driscoll.
In a chat with Shiv, Benjy talks about how an old print of a Robert Altman Film, a friend’s fight with cancer, and the late news of Driscoll’s death all manifested themselves into a creative spree that resulted in all of these new songs that make up his sophomore effort.
While out on the road for a brief tour with Tim Fite, Benjy stopped by with a full band to play an excellent set with 5 tracks off the new album in the Lounge.

Hello!
I saw your post about Benjy Ferree and I thought you might want to check out an audio interview I did with him the other day: http://tinyurl.com/DPDbenjyferree
He talks about his heroes Sam Cooke, Johnny Cash and Twiggie from Buck Rogers.
If you dig it, please share it.
Thanks,
Brendan
