Once you get the fact out of the way that Liam Finn is Neil Finn’s son, and the fact that he was a full time touring member of Dad’s band (Crowded House) you can settle in and enjoy his excellent solo debut album. And not that being the son of a famous musician is a bad thing, but not every one of them can match the talent of their fathers.

That is certainly not the case with Liam however, whose album I’ll Be Lightning was a pleasant surprise for all of us here at WOXY.com when it was released earlier this year on the Yep Roc label. Finn truly nails the “folk-rock” sound on the record, and we hope you are as excited as we are to see him live at Red Rocks during Monolith.
