I can see the references to Modest Mouse pretty easily, but I think that Cloud Cult is more melodic as can be heard on this song. When I first heard it I didn’t know much about the band, and just thought it was a neat song. After I learned more about the history of the band, the song pulled my heartstrings and still does whenever I hear it. The lyrics are poignant, the music rocks, and the vocals are intense.
