Talk about a man with music in his blood - David Holmes has filled every shoe the industry has to offer, and excelled at each.

Born in Belfast, Ireland on Valentine's Day 1969, Holmes was the youngest of ten. As a child, he developed a love for punk rock and began searching out other "underground" genres. Holmes began DJing at age 15 - his sets mixed every groove styling available. This entrance into the club scene led to a job as an underground concert promoter and an editor of a fanzine.

The late 80's brought a revolution in dance music - by integrating it into his sets, Holmes' club night became the first venue for serious dance music lovers in Northern Ireland. To get his hands on this new dance music, Holmes began a close association with the scene in England. Leading DJs overseas invited him to sit in on studio sessions. Holmes recorded a few projects, including "DeNiro", a club hit of 1992.

Holmes was remixing songs from the likes of Therapy? and St. Etienne during 1993-1994. As his profile rose, Holmes signed to Go! Discs and in '95 released his debut album This Film's Crap, Let's Slash the Seats.

This album started Holmes working in the film soundtrack arena. He contributed music to movies like In the Name of the Father, The Game, and The Resurrection Game. These soundtracks were accompanied by remix collections and some proper albums, like Let's Get Killed (1997) and Bow Down to the Exit Sign (2000).
