The year 2000 left pop music in critical condition. Good music and talent were replaced with glitter, matching outfits, synchronized dancing and lip-synching. A group of four guys from Liverpool took it upon themselves to "repair pop music and send it on it's way." Meet Clinic.
Clinic is the offshoot of Ade Blackburn and Hartley's old band Pure Morning. Brian Campbell and Carl Turney checked in a little later. The first single IPC Sub-Editors Dictate Our Youth earned a top ranking in John Peel's Festive 50 singles roundup. The following year, they released two well-received singles Cement Mixer and Monkey On Your Back. In 1999, they signed up with Domino Records and released their first full-length album Internal Wrangler.
Taking their mission very seriously, Clinic actually wears scrubs and surgical masks during live performances. Diagnosed a success, Clinic is raising temperatures all over the world. They have appeared at Scott Walker's Meltdown, All Tomorrow's Parties festivals, and toured with Radiohead. Their latest album, Internal Wrangler, is "medicine for the soul, a love transfusion service, the kindest of all cuts. It's Clinic... bringing us back to life."
