In a word, multi-cultural. Chicks on Speed comprises members from New York, Australia, and Germany. Melissa Logan, Alex Murray-Leslie and Kiki Moorse met in 1997 at a bar in Munich, near the Art Academy. They began releasing tons of singles - well, the prints were all limited-edition, but there were a lot of them. And a lot of touring with other independent bands.

Busy people, those Chicks on Speed. In 2000, they released a debut full length, Will Save Us All!. That same year, indie K Records put out the 'rarities' collection The Re-Releases of the Un-Releases. Along the way, Chicks on Speed have developed three independent labels: Go Records, Stop Records and Chicks on Speed Records. They also design videos and print graphics; arrange art installations; and create and sell paper and leather clothing.

In a word, multi-task.
