proud partner with austin's fun fun fun fest, nov. 7-8

Submitted by: paige

On four stages in two days, Fun Fest will span genres to bring us bands like Ratatat, Destroyer, GZA, Danzig, 7 Seconds, HEALTH, Why?, Crystal Castles, of Montreal, Shonen Knife, Death, Atlas Sound, Broadcast, Lucero and many (many) more. That's just for starters: there will be on-site shopping, comedy, art, food and a skate ramp at the park this year, keeping fans young and old entertained during what's shaping up to be one of the most beautiful weekends all year. We're giving away five pairs of weekend passes, get details here.

We'll be kicking off the weekend Friday night at Local Music Is Sexy. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for all the updates that don't make it to the Futurist.

Your WOXY weekend starts at 7a CT Saturday with THE WAITING ROOM, where 1/2 of Drunk Country & The Woman Of The House preside over two hours of music and conversation with no shortage of silliness. Wake up to new music this week from REAL ESTATE, TAP TAP (Tommy of Pete & The Pirates), ELVIS PERKINS, and a session and interview with DAN MICHAELSON & THE COASTGUARDS. If that's too early, catch TWR Sunday from 3-5p CT or on-demand whenever you like.

The rest of Saturday's lineup (all times CT) includes:
9a - WOXY Vintage, the History of the Future of Rock & Roll.
11a - FUTURE SOUNDS*
1p - 1-2-3-4 MORE MORE MORE Show*.

John Davis assaults your ears with 2 hours of power-pop, post-punk, new wave, punk rock and indie rock from today and yesterday. This week, he’s got X, the BUZZCOCKS, EL PERRO DEL MAR, THE CLEAN, and THE EXPLODING HEARTS in the mix.

5p - ARTROCKER RADIO*

Paul from ARTROCKER Magazine checks in with the latest from the London underground. This week, he’s spinning THE SOFT PACK, THE LOVELY EGGS, THE CHAPMAN FAMILY and Lydia Lunch’s BIG SEXY NOISE in addition to THE PHANTOM BAND and COLD CAVE.

9p - XTRABEATS*

But wait! There's Sunday:
1p – 1-2-3-4 MORE MORE MORE Show (an archived encore you may have missed)
3p - THE WAITING ROOM*

* - programs archived for on-demand listening (all times CT)
